Kristi & Brian’s Disney Resort Engagement
Brian knew that Kristi was the one from the moment they started dating. Ever since then, he had been planning for this moment. The moment where he’d take Kristi by complete surprise and ask her to spend the rest of her life with him
Brian crossed all of his T’s and dotted all of his I’s when it came to his plan. He knew exactly what he was going to do by the time he reached out to me. His plan was to fly the both of them out to Florida for a weekend getaway. On the day of the proposal, he would make Kristi believe that they were going out to a nice dinner with friends. It was so sweet to hear about his plan – and to hear about just how much he loved Kristi.
I knew this was going to be one of my favorite engagement sessions immediately. We all know how much I LOVE genuine emotion. And to be able to capture a moment as special and authentic as this has always been a dream of mine. As soon as I arrived at the Polynesian Resort, I headed to the area where Brian had planned to get down on one knee. Then it started pouring! (Yep, that crazy Florida weather was back at it again!)
As I waited under the cover of the Fiji building for the rain to stop, I received a text from Brian’s brother. He and his bestie met up with me and we proceeded to the location. When we arrived at the bench, we saw that it was covered in rain droplets. Luckily there was a very kind man watching us along with his two children. I ran over to the balcony, explained what was about to happen and the man graciously let us borrow one of his room towels.
We quickly propped up the flowers, the ring, and the cutest little sign on the bench. We placed a speaker beside the nearby tree and we all headed to our positions.
The proposal wasn’t the only surprise that Brian had planned for Kristi. He knew this moment would mean more if the people that they loved and cared for most were there to share this special moment with them.
This special moment in time was full of hugs, laughs and tears (of joy!) and I am so thankful to have been a part of it. Congratulations, Kristi + Brian!
